Teaching Experience 

2021–2022 Teaching Faculty III, Dedman College of Hospitality, Florida State University.

Taught undergraduate courses in parks, recreation and tourism industry, event technology, special events promotion, event operations and management, ethics and sustainability, leisure and recreation programs and facilities for all ages and varying abilities. Served as Coordinator for Certificate in Special Events program managing undergraduate certificate including recruitment, admissions, and advisement through to completion. Provided input on marketing strategies for undergraduate certificate program. Represented the University in service to industry associations, specifically Florida Recreation and Park Association Certificate Committee, and Florida Festivals and Events Association Board of Directors and Chair Emerging Leaders Committee.

2018–2020 Teaching Faculty III, College of Applied Studies, Florida State University. 

Event Management: Taught undergraduate courses in special events using  various delivery modes: traditional face to face, hybrid, synchronous and  asynchronous online. Managed certificate in special events program: program  marketing, recruitment, admissions, and budget. Provided advisement to students. Developed and maintained effective working relationships with recreation and event industry professionals, associations and providers.  

Managed placement of graduate students in industry locations for completion  of the capstone practicum course, specifically identifying appropriate  agencies, review and approval, based on program policies and managed program closeout resulting in 73 students awarded the Graduate Certificate in Event Management. Recreation, Tourism and Events: developed and taught courses  for majors, minors and non-majors in various recreation industry topics including introduction, outdoor recreation, adaptations for all ages and abilities. The rapid growth of the event industry has resulted in a world-wide demand for education and  training programs in event management. This study asked practicing event managers to rate 91  skills in terms of importance to entry level employees in event management.
